Our Adoption Process
From Reservation to Bringing Your Baby Home
Welcoming one of our teacup mini pigs into your family is an exciting experience, and we strive to make the entire mini pig adoption process simple, transparent, and enjoyable. At Violet’s Mini Pigs, we believe adopting a pet mini pig should be about more than finding a breeder—it should be about building a relationship with families that continues long after adoption day.
Our step-by-step process is designed to keep you informed, answer your questions, and help ensure both you and your new companion are prepared for a successful transition.
Reserve Your Baby
When you’re ready to welcome one of our mini pigs for sale, the first step is placing a $325 reservation deposit. This deposit reserves your place in the order deposits are received and is applied toward the total adoption fee of $925, leaving a remaining balance of $600 due at pickup.
To provide every family with the best opportunity to choose from each litter, we typically accept only four reservations per litter, even though many of our moms have six to eight babies. This helps ensure families have excellent choices while maintaining a fair reservation process.
Reservation deposits are non-refundable, but if an unexpected situation arises, your deposit may be transferred to a future litter.
We welcome Our New Babies
After our babies are born, we give every litter time to bond with their mother, nurse, and become comfortable in their nursery environment before beginning individual photo sessions.
During this time, we closely monitor each baby’s health, growth, and development. Every baby receives daily care, handling, and socialization to help prepare them for life as loving family companions.
Families who have reserved a baby receive updates throughout this exciting stage.
Choose Your Mini Pig
Once the babies are old enough, reservation holders are invited to choose their new family member in the order deposits were received.
Families may visit our farm by appointment or, if they live farther away, choose their baby through photos, videos, or a FaceTime appointment. Each family has approximately 48 hours to make their selection before the next family is contacted.
This process allows every family time to carefully choose the baby that best fits their home and lifestyle.
Preparing Your baby for home
Before going home, every baby begins preparing for the transition into family life.
Our family-raised mini pigs receive:
- Litter box training started
- Comfort space training
- Daily socialization
- Age-appropriate vaccinations
- Preventative deworming
- 30-day Revolution treatment
- Microchipping with complimentary lifetime registration
- Spay or neuter performed by our licensed veterinarian
- Veterinary health inspection for transported babies
We want every family to receive a healthy, confident, and well-prepared companion.
Pickup or Nationwide Transportation
Families are welcome to pick up their new baby at our farm by appointment. For those living farther away, we proudly offer nationwide transportation using experienced USDA-licensed pet transport professionals.
Every transported baby receives a veterinary health inspection before traveling to help ensure a safe and healthy journey to their new home.
Whether you’re located nearby or across the country, we’ll work with you to make bringing your new pet mini pig home as smooth as possible.
Lifetime Support
Adoption day is only the beginning of your journey.
Every Violet’s Mini Pigs family receives access to our exclusive educational website, filled with information about feeding, behavior, litter training, harness training, veterinary care, nutrition, and everyday pig ownership. We’re also available to answer questions and provide ongoing guidance whenever you need us.
Our commitment doesn’t end when your baby leaves the farm. We believe every family deserves continued support throughout the life of their pig.
